Microneedling: Benefits for the SkinMicroneedling: Benefits for the Skin

Cosmetic or medical needling can be used for a wide variety of skin problems and can visibly improve the complexion. You can have cosmetic microneedling in a Dr. Have it carried out at the highest level by aRIMPLER partner institute in your area.

This is how microneedling works and it offers these advantages:

  • Anti-wrinkle effect: A microneedling treatment is intended to stimulate skin regeneration and the production of collagen and elastin. This can significantly reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Firmer skin: Collagen and elastin are responsible for the firm, elastic structure of the skin. Because microneedling stimulates the production of these two proteins, it can contribute to firm, plumped skin.
  • Smaller pores: Regular microneedling can help shrink enlarged pores and make the skin appear finer and smoother overall.
  • Radiant complexion: Needling can improve skin regeneration. This makes the skin look brighter and healthier.
  • Better absorption of care products: After a microneedling session, the skin is particularly receptive to active ingredients. Serums and creams can penetrate deep into the skin and have their effect there.
  • Reduction of scars and pigment spots: Because needling supports the regeneration of the skin, even scars and pigment spots can become significantly less noticeable.

What is microneedling and how does it work?

Microneedling uses a pen or roller equipped with fine needles. This is rolled over the skin and leaves countless extremely fine channels in the skin. In this way, the top layer of skin becomes more permeable to care substances. In addition, the tiny injuries stimulate the regeneration of the skin, so that it can become more refined and the skin's appearance can improve.

Before the actual treatment, the skin is cleansed to remove dirt, oil and make-up. Thorough disinfection then takes place. To make the treatment more comfortable, an anesthetic cream is often applied to the skin. Then the actual treatment begins.

Using a special microneedling device with many very fine needles, the practitioner works her way over the skin little by little. The needles can be of different lengths depending on the treatment goal and skin type. With cosmetic needling they are shorter, with medical needling they penetrate deeper layers of the skin.

During or after microneedling, special active ingredients are often incorporated into the skin. These intensify the results and provide the skin with important nutrients.

You should keep this in mind after microneedling

In the first few hours, the skin may be red and slightly swollen, similar to a mild sunburn. However, this initial reaction improves after 24 hours at the latest.

After the microneedling treatment, the skin is sensitive and needs special care. You should pay attention to these aspects:

  • Use particularly mild cosmetic products that do not irritate the skin, but provide it with intensive moisture and nutrients. Our “SENSITIVE” care range is perfect for this. It was specially developed for sensitive and vulnerable skin and is the perfect care for your skin even after microneedling.
  • Protect your skin particularly well from the sun in the near future! Even in cloudy weather, use a sunscreen with a high sun protection factor!
  • In the days following the treatment, avoid any substances that could further irritate the skin! This also includes peelings, lightening creams and similar products.
  • If possible, avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications! The mild inflammatory reaction of the skin is an important and desired part of the treatment.
  • Avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours so that your pores don't get clogged and your skin can breathe!
  • You should not sweat too much in the two days after the treatment. Therefore, avoid saunas and intensive physical activities!
