The right skincare routine on holiday provides plenty of moisture

Your skin can become particularly dry whilst on holiday. Sun and wind, salt water and chlorine, heat and sweat all strip the skin of moisture. This can lead to irritation, a feeling of tightness, rough patches or a compromised protective barrier.

You should therefore make sure to keep your skin well moisturised whilst on holiday. Use creams, serums and lotions packed with moisturising ingredients! Just make sure they don’t block your pores, otherwise you’ll soon end up with heat rash!

For example, our Cutanova Cream Aqua Protect is ideal for keeping your skin hydrated whilst on holiday. It protects the skin from harmful environmental factors and provides it with plenty of healthy moisture. For the delicate eye area, we also recommend using the matching eye cream.  By the way: both products are also available in travel-sized versions, perfect for packing in your holiday luggage. The key to beautiful summer skin: sun protection

UV radiation is a major risk factor for a wide range of skin problems. It can cause sunburn and trigger a sun allergy, increase the risk of skin cancer, and also have a significant impact on skin ageing. That is why it is essential to protect your skin from the sun, especially if you are on holiday in a sunny destination.

So make sure you use a good sun cream with a high sun protection factor on your body and face! Even if you’re already slightly tanned, this is still important, as tanned skin can also be damaged by the sun

By the way, you can still get a tan even if you use sun cream. It takes a bit longer, but the tan lasts longer.

By the way: if you’re swimming in the sea, you should make sure you use a sun cream that doesn’t harm marine life. Corals, in particular, can be very sensitive. The Cutanova Face Spa holiday set also includes a coral-friendly sun cream with sun protection factor 50.

Gentle cleansing for your skin in summer

Cleansing your skin is particularly important when you’re on holiday. After all, it comes into contact with all sorts of different irritants. That’s why a good cleansing routine is essential when you’re away. Use a mild cleanser in the morning and evening, then rinse it off with lukewarm water!

You can also do your skin a favour by using regular peeling products. Gentle peelings remove dead skin cells and cleanse the skin deep into the pores. Bear in mind, however, that a chemical peel can make your skin even more sensitive to UV rays! You should therefore take extra care to use sun protection.

Caring for your skin on holiday: preventing further irritation

The effects of the weather and your holiday activities may already be taking their toll on your skin. So make sure you don’t expose it to any further irritation! These tips will help you:

  • Very cold or very hot showers dry out the skin even more. Showering with lukewarm water is gentler on the skin.
  • Use an after-sun product to soothe your skin! It is usually applied in the evening.
  • Make sure you drink enough to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out!
  • Try not to touch your face with your hands as much as possible, so as not to spread bacteria there!
  • After swimming in the sea or a pool, you should shower as soon as possible and then apply plenty of skin cream.

With these tips, you won’t come back from your holiday with stressed, dry skin, but with relaxed, smooth skin and a gentle tan. Try it out!
